2015 Hyundai Genesis
We never really believed it when we first heard it, but Hyundai really is going after the Germans. The South Korean automaker has never found a segment they didn't like, but their quest for a foothold in the premium luxury segment is surprising. After all, Kia and Hyundai spent a very long time being associated with disposable cars. Quality was, and is still not the first thing that comes to mind when the brand's name is mentioned. Hyundai has decided that it's time to be taken seriously as a quality automaker. Hyundai has come a long way from the Excel in 1986. No longer do they need to offer 10 year warranties to reassure buyers. As well, part of their incentive is so that they don't have all their eggs in the cheap-car basket once China's automobiles arrive. Nobody wants to have to compete with China on price. In 2009, Hyundai launched the Genesis. This initial foray into the premium segment was under whelming. They imitated the styling of the big dogs, over delivered on features and undercut them on price, but they still weren't even close to being in the same ballpark. It suffered from poor handling, and even worse styling. More

2015 Hyundai Genesis
It seems that there is no 2014 edition of the Genesis premium sedan, since the 2015 model will arrive at Canadian dealerships this spring. You'll remember that Hyundai launched the second generation of it's luxury sedan at the Detroit auto show in January. Although the car's overall dimensions have remained essentially the same, all of the bodyparts have been redesigned. The wheelbase is stretched a little less than three inches, and Hyundai now uses high-strength steel to stiffen the unibody structure of the car. According to Hyundai, the car is 16 percent more torsionally stiff and 40 percent stronger when flexed. The suspension components have also been strengthened. Thus, for 2015, the front and rear suspensions of the Genesis are composed of multi-link systems. More

Hyundai Dealers Get Image Change
Hyundai dealers will get a makeover during the coming months. Indeed, Hyundai Auto Canada announced on Wednesday that it will roll out a new visual identity for it's entire national dealer network. Now represented by the blue and white colours, the new design will fit into the global identity of the company. This new initiative is called the Global Dealership Space Identity (GDSI) and will be introduced at all Hyundai dealerships around the world. What is immediately noticeable is the new exterior colour scheme. Dealership rooflines will now be bronze coloured, but Hyundai's signature blue hue will remain as an accent colour inside the dealerships. To facilitate and enhance the customer's experience, showrooms will now feature quality modern furniture, customer lounges, as well as new digital kiosks, tablets, shelves, and wheel stands. Plants and indoor trees will bring natural, environmental elements into the showroom space, and flooring will bring to mind a natural landscape. More

Hyundai - Kia Wins Top Quality Award
For many people, the word "quality" is not the first thing that comes to mind when Korean cars are mentioned. Slowly, but surely though, that perception is evolving. No longer thought of as disposable cars, Huyndai and Kia have just won a significant quality award. For the first time ever, the company has won first place in the 2014 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study. Feedback was collected from more than 86,000 buyers and lessees of 2014 models, after 90 days of vehicle ownership. The number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles is what determines quality scores. The lower the score, the higher the quality of the vehicle. The industry average is 116. Hyundai earned a score of 94, an improvement by 12 from last year. Kia's score was 106, matching last year's score. In individual segments, the Hyundai Genesis, Accent, Elantra and the Kia Sportage and Cadenza models all won, following GM who came out on top in six segments. More
